We hope the cruises will appeal to members, whether new or longstanding, adventurous or not and to those looking for a relaxing sail with company. The Deben cruise and the Commodore’s cruise hope to attract new members or those who do not usually venture too far. Additionally the Walton and the Stour/Orwell cruises are also local.
A little more information on some of the other cruises:-
Firstly you can show off your new boat in the model boat challenge.
The Ore/Alde plan is to sail to Snape.
The Lowestoft cruise intends to call at Southwold.
The London cruise is to South Dock and then Limehouse Marinas.
The Blackwater cruise has Heybridge Basin as its furthest port of call.

All the cruises will include social events such as barbeques, and yacht club or pub meals.
The details of each cruise will have been presented to the Members meeting on 6th February. Members who are interested in any of the cruises and have not put their name on the “expression of interest list” at the meeting should contact the cruise leaders. Plans can then progress based on boat numbers and sizes for each cruise. In the coming months “booking forms” will be printed in On Watch for each cruise.
Currently John Harrison knows of five or so informal cruises to France, Belgium, and Holland. Most plan to set out in June and anyone interested in more information on these trips, or who are planning their own cruise and wish for company please let him know. We would also like anyone interested in short notice departures in the summer to either Belgium or France to also be in touch so that a group may get together.

WCC Day Boats and River Cruisers on The Deben
Is anyone interested in day cruises on the Deben with fellow day boat owners during the summer perhaps when the tides are suitable?
For example on Saturday 22nd May, HW Woodbridge is about 0800hrs and 2030hrs. This could provide a full day out to Felixstowe Ferry, Bawdsey, Ramsholt or The Rocks with favourable tides there and back. Other possible dates could be Sunday 20th June (HW Woodbridge 0740, and 2000), Tuesday 20th or Wednesday 21st July, Wednesday 18th August.
If you are interested please contact The Cruise Captain before 16th April with your details and he will put interested parties in contact with each other to make arrangements.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Before taking part in WCC cruises, all members acting as Skipper on a participating yacht are asked to give the following undertaking:
I accept full responsibility as Skipper for all aspects of marine activity on the craft in my charge and absolve Woodbridge Cruising Club, its Officers and members from all responsibility and liability when I am participating in marine activities initiated by the club.
I will be fully responsible for all my decisions to go or to return or take other action in case of bad weather or other problems or emergencies. I confirm that my craft is fit for the activities planned and is fully insured for all such activities.
I will inform any member of my crew who is not a member of the Club that the Woodbridge Cruising Club accepts no liability for accident, damage or other injury.
The purpose of this undertaking is to ensure members are aware that event organisers shall not be liable for any loss, damage death or personal injury howsoever caused to the owner, his skipper of crew, as a result of their taking part in the event. Every owner warrants the suitability of his craft for the event.
