Juliet Dearlove works in the City as company secretary of a FTSE250 Investment Trust and lives in Easton. She qualified as a solicitor in 1993 and worked in London for 12 years. However, in 2005 she resigned her job, the family house was sold, the children withdrawn from school (then aged six and eight) and they bought a boat in Italy and sailed to the Caribbean and back, returning to the River Deben in August 2006.
While away, Juliet wrote a blog as an easy way of letting everyone know they were still alive and to convey something of the extraordary life they were leading. Upon their return she felt reluctant to abandon it, and worked in her spare time to make it into something that they could keep for the future – an honest account of all the good (and bad!) times on the boat. Friends encouraged her to publish and recently “Atlantic Children” has been released. It is available from Amazon or via Juliet’s website
