A Warm Welcome to Woodbridge Cruising Club on the River Deben from the Commodore.
The Club was founded in 1965 to encourage local sailors to explore the numerous estuaries on the East Coast and beyond: to the Thames, the South Coast, the Netherlands, Belgium and France.
Our members organise cruises throughout the Summer and early Autumn, including an introductory cruise of the season to check out the changing bar at the entrance to the River Deben. During the winter season we have regular talks on Sunday mornings and occasionally on Saturday evenings, covering a wide variety of nautical topics. These are very popular with members. We also have six major social functions held in the Club, as well as fortnightly suppers and walks; these too are well attended.
The success of our Club is a tribute to the efforts of the many members who organise cruises, help run the bar, cook in the galley and work in the maintenance group. We publish a monthly newsletter, On Watch, which in addition to this website, keeps all members up to date with events in the Club.
Visiting yachtsmen are most welcome to come to the Club, as are those who might be interested in becoming members.
We are open to visitors on Saturdays and Sundays from 12:00 – 14:30. For more information please contact us through our website.
