The club cruises have been really popular as always, and are now drawing to a close as autumn approaches.

The Ramsgate / Belgium cruise was a chance to visit Oostende and Niuewpoort, and five yachts visited Ramsgate, with three boats voyaging further afield to enjoy nearly a week in Belgium, with the Belgium cuisine a particular highlight, as was the weather, visits to local yacht clubs and tram rides into town. Although it was a ten hour passage crossing the channel due to light winds, it was a peaceful (motor) sail for all. Many thanks to cruise captain Andy for arranging such a wonderful trip.

The Blackwater cruise is a perennial favourite, visiting Haybridge, Bradwell, Brightlingsea, enjoying pub meals, barbecues, walks and a Klub tournament.  A record 16 boats participated, with a pleasant sail up the Wallet, dinner at Colne Yacht Club, a voyage to Rowhedge ( for shallow draft boats), a river dingy trip and  a walk to St Peter’s Chapel some of the highlights. Thanks to John for organising this.

The penultimate Walton Pond will be wonderful weekend in early September, and the ultimate cruise is the Three Rivers, followed by the annual cruise dinner for everyone who has participated on a cruise this year.

Woodbridge Cruising Club offers yacht owners (and motor boat) the chance to cruise in company, surely some of the best reasons for joining, this is especially true for voyages to the continent, or to new destinations.

The popular August Bank Holiday barbecue held at the club overlooking the river was, as always a sell-out, and the delicious puddings are one reason it is such a success.

The cruising club is looking forward to the autumn social programme, so why not consider joining. This website  has full details and new members are welcome, whether you currently own a motorboat or yacht, (or are a past owner), or have an interested in all things nautical.
