I hope this message finds members and their families well and looking forward to the reopening of the club to reconnect with other members socially and on cruises.

We normally only carry out maintenance in the autumn and winter to focus on sailing but COVID-19 has forced us to adapt. During the current Lockdown a small team has checked the club and carried outessential preventive maintenance such as draining, flushing and recently refilling the water system. We now have clear RYA guidance on Volunteering at the Club and Committee have agreed to the re-startof maintenance parties on April 7th to prepare the club for reopeningpermitted from April 12th. We plan to continue social distancing, hand washing, sanitiser use and masks indoors. Work groups will besix or less and attendance will be limited to 15. Outside tasks will take priority but some indoor tasks are essential before reopening.

Urgent Tasks on April 7th.

Clean and Set out the garden furniture and parasols to permit Social Distancing as required by the Updated COVID-19 Risk Assessment.

Erect a sun/rain lean-to shelter over the BBQ cooking area.

Portable Appliances Tests to be updated.

Cleaning ground floor windows.

Deep cleaning bar area and cellar.

Updating Social Distancing Signage.

I’m pleased to report that five of the volunteers are New Crew to join Maintenance because more working parties will be necessary as the guidelines are relaxed. But I will try to avoid clashes with cruises!
